Inspired by the recent uprisings and political upheaval in Venezuela, I embroidered the country as an oil spill running off the side of the work, relating the country’s inherent sovereignty with the corporate greed which seeks to destroy it.

Embroidery on wood. Each eye “ goes along with the grain” literally, looking out from within its own natural pattern, they remind us that that we are a part of The T.J. Eckleberg of American freedom, so ingrained into the unknown unknowns of our subconscious that we cannot see the true consequences of our own ignorance.
